Show Jumping

Come and enjoy a show jumping lesson at Coloured Cob on one of our fantastic horses or ponies. All our lessons are tailored to your age and current level of ability, but eventually a jumping lesson will incorporate an element of flatwork to improve position and balance. You will learn about and practise jumping position and gauging the stride and rhythm to jump more effectively. You will be taught the different types of jump, fillers.

Whether you’re just at trotting pole stage, cavaletti, small jumps or something larger, you will have endless fun and a great sense of achievement, without being pushed beyond your comfort zone. Use either our horses or please give us a call and book in your own horse. You will be taught on a rubber/sand surface in an enclosed, outdoor arena with a great selection of jumps.

Why learn to show jump with Coloured Cob?

Do you cater for beginners?

Yes of course, everyone has to start somewhere! We have a mini cross-country course for those that wish to start with the very basics of cross country.

We would ask that anyone booking a show jumping lesson is wearing a hat to at least PAS015 standard with a flexible peak and up to standard body protector. We sell hats and body protectors in our shop on site. Hats are available to hire for £1 but body protectors are not available to hire.

Tom rides here in our disabled sessions, and due to having autism, he was told he would never have the balance to ride a bike… he is now trotting without a leader which makes everybody here at Coloured Cob extremely happy! 😊
