It was my aim to open a centre where compassion and customer service were high on the business agenda. Coloured Cob prides itself on listening to the needs of clients, but also to the needs of the horses. The centre is also steeped in history and the stables and accommodation date back to 1610. Situated on bridleways immediately adjacent to the archaeological beauty spot of Creswell Crags, meaning we are blessed with a beautiful Nottinghamshire countryside setting. We provide a range of services, lessons, treks and more to suit both personal and corporate clients. We cater for absolute beginners to advanced level riders. My goal was to create a place where both rider and horse can enjoy each other’s company. Every day my team strive to achieve this goal and create a fun equestrian experience for all our riders. I look forward to welcoming my fellow horse lovers to Coloured Cob.
I’m often asked… why coloured cobs? (this is a breed synonymous with gypsies and associated with pulling carts/carriages and the horses have feathers on their legs)…many years ago, I visited some horse sales and saw these beautiful creatures being sold at a ridiculously low price. I knew then, from the honesty in their eyes, that given the opportunity of a fair chance, you would have a loyal, trusted friend for life. After sometimes holding down three jobs, juggling two children to afford this dream, I finally opened the Coloured Cob Equestrian Centre, I knew that this breed, now very popular as they are recognised for their temperament and versatility, had to be the breed of choice for me. All the horses here have a home for life.
